2018/2019 Submissions Calls (LGBTQ Romance Stories)

Boy/Girl Next Door

Deadline: November 30, 2018
We are looking for queer romance and erotic romance stories where the main character falls for a sexy neighbor. This could be someone who lives next door, but might also mean a coworker in an adjacent cubicle, a fellow soldier in the same unit, or another athlete on the same team. Just anyone the MC has admired/loved from afar who’s suddenly interested in them, too.

May/December Kind of Love

      Deadline: December 31, 2018
We are looking for queer romance and erotic romance stories about lovers whose age gap only enhances their relationship. Maybe a young man is fed up of shallow players his own age, so he goes for a bit of maturity and is pleasantly surprised. Or an older character jaded by life hooks up with someone younger. Not expecting a connection, they’re pleasantly surprised when the young man or woman asks for a second date. Or a college frat boy finds love with an experienced leather daddy who likes to be in control.

If the Shoe Fits ...

Deadline: January 31, 2019
From high heels to penny loafers, ballet slippers to snowshoes to horseshoes (why not?!), we want queer romance and erotic romance stories featuring shoes. Maybe the first thing your character notices about someone is the pair of construction boots he or she wears. Or perhaps your character has a foot or shoe fetish his or her lover indulges. How do a person’s shoes help your character find love? Maybe it’s a modern day retelling of Cinderella with his/her glass slipper, or the tale of finding the perfect pair of shoes for a special occasion and finding the perfect partner for that occasion at the same time.

Date Night

Deadline: February 28, 2019
We are looking for queer romance and erotic romance stories about dating. Whether it’s a first date with a Tinder hookup or a regular evening out for a couple in a committed relationship, take your reader along for the ride! Is the date the traditional dinner and a movie? Or maybe a moonlight walk followed by a picnic? Or maybe the date is less traditional, such as an afternoon spent scuba diving? Wherever your characters go, will the date end with a chaste kiss on the doorstep, or will there be an invitation to come in?

Missed Connections

Deadline: March 31, 2019
We are looking for queer romance and erotic romance stories about missed connections. Maybe your character wrote down someone’s phone number wrong and now has to try to find him or her. Or a sudden romance blooms when your character misses a connecting flight or has to take a later train and finds Mr. or Ms. Right? Perhaps someone types in the wrong email address and, intrigued, the recipient replies?

Fun in the Sun

Deadline: April 30, 2019
We are looking for queer romance and erotic romance stories set during the sultry summer months. We want your characters to fall in love with each other ... and with nature. At the beach or the mountains, at the lake or an amusement park -- it’s up to you! Warm weather usually leads to fewer clothes and maybe fewer inhibitions? Applying sunscreen to your own body is no fun, but asking someone else to get those hard to reach places can result in more than the sun heating things up.
