Even since that boy came into the apartment, Marc smelled roses. He had an idea of why but he had to make sure. He came out with his wallet and handed the boy three hundred dollar bills making sure to touch his hand. As soon as their fingertips made contact, his wolf cried, "Mate! Mine!"

He watched his mate's body language. He seemed resigned to the inevitability of something, and it had to do with removing the hoodie. He mumbled. Humans continually amazed Marc Thierry. Like Rémy Clavier, he found the mumbles amusing since his superior hearing could pick up every word.

"You won't be so anxious to have me stay once I take off the hoodie and show my face," the boy murmured.

Slowly, Colin removed his hoodie trying to keep the right side of his face away from Marc. Marc immediately sent out a command over his Alpha link. No matter what he reveals, don't react. Philippe and Anton gave their Alpha imperceptible nods of their heads.

The boy took off the hoodie, hands shaking. He held out his hand. "I'm Colin Callahan. Thank you for the dinner invitation." Marc saw what he was hiding. There was a burn scar on his face running from just above his mouth to his ear.
