Alexandra Caluen
Alexandra Caluen’s first book was a French Revolution historical romance written during graduate school. More recently, she turned to contemporary romance inspired by her work, family, and friend groups. Strong family and friendship ties in the LGBTQ+ community have brought stories into focus that deal with issues of inclusion, representation, and equality. Frequent themes include loss and recovery; reinvention; creative expression; and found family.
Since moving cross-country to Los Angeles and learning to dance, Alexandra has enjoyed several life-changing experiences: being a dance extra in a feature film and in a narrative ballet onstage; performing with a USA Dance team in the 2012 Rose Parade; competing at the national level in American-style ballroom; and meeting countless creatives.
Alexandra lives in a small purple house with her husband, a bottle of Laphroaig, a lot of books, and nine pairs of ballroom shoes. She works in patent law and reads compulsively.
