Scott Alexander Hess

Scott Alexander Hess earned his MFA in creative writing from The New School. He blogs for The Huffington Post and his writing has appeared in Genre Magazine, The Fix, and elsewhere. Hess co-wrote Tom in America, an award-winning short film starring Sally Kirkland and Burt Young. His fourth novel, Skyscraper, was named a Lambda Literary Award 2016 Finalist, while his third novel, The Butcher’s Sons, was named one of Kirkus Reviews Best Books of 2015. His work, including his debut novel Diary of a Sex Addict, has been translated into German.

Scott teaches fiction writing at Gotham Writers in Manhattan. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, he now lives in Manhattan, New York, with his fiancé.
